Insta BJM
Block Jointing Mortar
INSTA BJM is a binding material that is specifically designed for use in jointing AAC blocks at internal and external areas. It is a pre-mixed Polymerized dry mortar free flowing powder in grey colour that contains graded minerals, cement, and specialized chemicals in the right proportions to achieve high strength.
Insta BJM has an ability to provide superior insulation performance for AAC blocks as it applied in thin bed (2- 3mm), which helps to protect against water ingress during heavy rains.
Insta BJM is manufactured using strict quality controls and is made from a PLC-controlled machine that adheres to the IS-15477(2004).
Insta BJM is an excellent choice for a high-quality binding material that is specifically designed for use in AAC blocks. Its superior strength, insulation performance, and consistent quality makes it a better choice.

Mixing and Application
- Surface should be clean before starting the work, no foreign particles should be present.
- Place the first layer on floor using normal sand-cement mortar due to undulation in level of floor.
- Lay the blocks of first layer with proper levelling using sprit level, water tube, and other levelling tools.
- Once first layer is set, now start second layer using Insta BJM in thin bed mortar.
- For mixing, mix Insta Block Bond jointing mortar with 25-30 % of water by weight.
- Mix first for 5-10 minutes by hand or electrical mixer to mix homogeneously.
- Allow mortar to stand for next 5 minutes so that additives react with water.
- Wet the jointing surface of blocks before applying mortar.
- Spread the mortar on all sides of block in such a way to maintain the bond thickness 2-3 mm. Use proper notched trowel for applying thin and uniform layer of Insta BJM.
- Do not disturb the wall after application of mortar for at least 24 hours.
Do's & Don'ts
- 1. Use all the contents of Bags in one go, remaining material will get hard if in contact with air.
- 2. Always add Powder to Water and never add water in powder.
- 3. In first course of block laying, cement-sand mortar in the ratio of 1:4 or equivalent should be used. Check for perfect levelling of block course using sprit level. Give sufficient time to hard the joint in first course. Block once set must not be disturbed.
- 4. After 1.2 meter, horizontal reinforced bond beam is recommended to provide strength and stability to wall and protection from cracks.
- 5. Chicken mesh is recommended to use in concrete AAC joints at corners, electrical junction boxes and conducting slots.
- 6. For Long wall Vertical mullion to be provided at every 3 meter.
- 7. Hacking should be properly done on RCC surface before commencement of Block work alternatively Polymer Bond Coat to be applied.
- 8. Maintain proper consistency of mix for proper adhesion.
- 9. Top most gap of approx 15 – 20mm between wall and beam should be filled with lean concrete, backer rod etc.
- 10. Preferably Insta Block Bond to be applied on both the surface of two blocks.
- 11. Strictly not recommended for fixing on Gypsum Plaster, Metal and Wood.
